Streets and Trips 2009 has been available as a 60-day trial download since the end of August, and several members of Laptop GPS World have already posted their feedback - positive and negative - read here »
However, today, September 15, 2008, is the day when Microsoft officially launches this newest version of the trip planning and GPS navigation software program. Those who are interested to try before they buy, go to our review thread for the download link: Streets & Trips 2009 » Quote:

Thanks for making this full article available Marvin - Great Scoop! This press release targets the consumer/vacation planner. Of course, Streets and Trips is also an important business tool that can add dollars to the bottom line.

Keith, I was thinking about exactly the same thing while posting the press release. Microsoft has always marketed S&T as a consumer/vacation planner. Only Microsoft knows who the customers really are, but judging by this forum one could think that a considerable number of customers are using Streets & Trips also at work. I do suspect that quite a few of us use S&T 5 days a week, and several hours a day, instead of just planning a family vacation once a year.

Maybe I missed it, but when will S&T be available in teh US in stores? It says september 15th, but its not in any stores. I wanna make sure I get the Pharos chipset, compared to the USB, which IMO would be a pain.

Yes, the Pharos SiRF StarIII is a usb, but its not like the usb stick as shown in the new product photos. I want the little square one, that I can set on my dash.

The Pharos-made USB GPS-500 receiver should still come to a store near you if you live in the USA. However, Streets & Trips 2009 w/GPS Locator sold in Canada will include the USB GPS stick with u-Blox chip.
However, both can be placed on dashboard, as long as you use the included (or preferably your own, and much longer) USB extension cable.
