Nearby Places Sorted in Trip Order

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before (but if so, this is my "I second the motion"), but...

We often search for nearby places along the entire route we're covering (e.g. campgrounds within 1 mile, etc.). Currently, the sort is only alphabetically or distance from route (e.g. 1/2 mile, then one mile, etc.). It would be *really* handy to have the list sorted starting at the beginning of the route, then following the route to the desitnation. That way, we could easily jump through the list to find nearby places that are close to where we are.

Or, better yet, add the ability to sort the list starting at the current GPS location and ending at the destination (i.e. drop those nearby places we've already passed). Now THAT would be handy! However, I'd settle for just being able to sort for the entire route and manually find my current position.

Regards, Chris

That would be a feature loved by many users.

I have seen [I think on this forum] an add-on feature that scans ahead of your current location to reveal POI's along your route... You might make use of that in the meantime...

Thanks for the suggestion, t1dunn. I think you're referring to POI Scanner by toyfountain? I took a look at that yesterday (looks VERY interesting), but he says it's compatible with S&T 2006 through 2009 only. Hopefully he's working on a version that'll work with S&T 2010 because if he does I'm gonna grab it!

It you're thinking of another utility, point the way because being able to scan ahead would be quite handy. Backtracking in a 34 foot motorhome isn't much fun!

Yes, POI Scanner... I see that you have inquired as to it working in 2010... Hope it does...

I hope so, too, because that would be darned handy to have! We'll see what kind of reply I get.

Thanks, again, for the pointer!

Chris
